Thai mobile operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) is planning to acquire ISP Triple T Broadband (3BB). The deal is valued at a total of THB32.4 billion (USD908 million) and will include the acquisition of 99.87% of 3BB’s shares for THB19.5 billion and 19% of Jasmine Broadband Internet Infrastructure Fund for THB12.99 billion. AIS CFO Tee Seeumpornroj said: ‘This acquisition will enhance consumer access to a broader and better quality of service by improving broadband inclusion in new areas targeting the [northern parts of the country] and non-city areas.’ The deal is expected to be approved by the Office of The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) by Q1 2023.

Triple T Broadband is 99.89% owned by Acumen Co, itself 99.99% owned by Jasmine International. The Jasmine Broadband Internet Infrastructure Fund, meanwhile, incorporates extensive network assets operated by Triple T Broadband, while allowing the group to lease capacity and other resources.
